Resources

This section is a list of resources I use or wish someone told me about when I went gluten free. From ways to save money to handy Instagram accounts and apps!

Money and time Saving apps:
Thrive Market: It's like Amazon Prime meets the local health store. You pay for a membership $59.99/year, and it gives you access to tons of brands at usually better than the grocery store prices. My favorite perk of this is that I can shop by dietary need from the comfort of my home and it comes straight to my door. It saves me so much time instead of spending it all scanning labels in the store. I can also ship packages (for free) to my family, to a rental, an Airbnb, so we can have food with us wherever we go.  They have a sweet referral program, when you use my link to join you get 40% off your first order and I get a credit to help pay for my family's groceries: http://thrv.me/ecFmas

Ibotta: Cash back app on groceries and a little bit of everything else too. This came in handy when we were renovating our lil' condo because who knew you could get cash back on things like a microwave and a dishwasher? Get $5 after redeeming your first offer when you use my referral link: https://ibotta.onelink.me/iUfE/8cc13c64?friend_code=pxmiotc

Fetch: Rewards app that's super easy to use, download the app, snap pictures of your reciept and get points that turn into gift cards. From gas to food, to gifts, every receipt gets points back, then sponsored brands and such get more, kinda like a coupon, but you don't have to clip it ahead of time. https://referral.fetch.com/vvv3/referralemail?code=CY749K

Merryfield: Works just like Fetch above, but you earn rewards on better for you brands. http://www.merryfield.com/

Celiac Apps:
Find Me Gluten Free: Every GF person needs this app and if you have Celiac's Disease and travel frequently, the paid subscription is worth it!  https://www.findmeglutenfree.com/

The Celiac Space: This is the app I wish I had when I was newly diagnosed, it's created by a Celiac dietician who knows her stuff on all things Celiac! https://www.theceliacspace.com/theceliacapp

Spoonful: a handy app to assist you in ingredient checking- Diet-Friendly Food Discovery - Spoonful (spoonfulapp.com)

Cookbooks:
Early in my journey to eating with Celiac's and food allergies, Danielle Walker was a wealth of information, and so were her cookbooks. I still use them to make an old favorite or to cook for friends with multiple allergies.  https://shop.daniellewalker.com/collections/books

If you like to know the "why" behind what flour works best for what you're making and why, I highly recommend America's Test Kitchens "How Can it Be Gluten Free Cookbook Collection". Please buy a copy and make the Pumpkin Bread. It'll become a family favorite, promise! How Can It Be Gluten Free Cookbook Collection | Shop America's Test Kitchen (americastestkitchen.com)

My oldest daughter gave this to me for Christmas a couple years ago and it's got some of our go to recipes in it now! Mama Knows Gluten Free 's cookbook and blog will help you find new favorites for sure! https://www.mamaknowsglutenfree.com/cookbook/

Blogs/Social Media Accounts:
Halfbaked Harvest, she's not an allergy blogger but she uses such a variety of ingredients and provides so much inspiration and I've made so many of her recipes that are naturally GF or her cookies, very successfully by swapping regular flour for a GF flour (Bob's Red Mill 1 to 1 or King Arthur Measure for Measure).  Delicious Wholesome Family Friendly Recipes Made with Love - Half Baked Harvest
